So our crazy bbq road trip made Tumblr Tuesday, which is awesome (Thanks Tumblr!)
We’ll be getting another video up tonight or maybe tomorrow, but in the meantime, what do our new followers want to know? We just finished our epic 15-stop 7-day driving through 11-states trip, and we learned a LOT about bbq. All of our stuff is made completely live, so if there’s something you want to know about - ask us!

Tonight we will be posting the next video in our series: the BBQBJ “Guide to Good BBQ”. For now, however, we were tweeted a question from @Mackwrestler007.
@bbqbj How much weight did you gain on the BBQ road trip?
A fine question! Well…I, Jason, started at a svelte 248.5 and finished at 251. That means I gained 2.5 lbs.
Brian, on the other hand, is a lucky bastard. He started at 169 (heh…69) and now weighs 164.5. That’s right, he lost 4.5 lbs.

Episode 5 is having some difficulty posting. The Best Western in Cookesville, TN has wifi that is lacking…could take up to 9 hours. I’m gonna go to sleep and hope its uploaded by the time I wake up.

4) Lady Gaga is where it gets interesting. On the northeast of the coast, it’s clearly Bad Romance. But once you start going more south and head to the midwest, they’re not as into romantic things in a negative way. Instead they focus on Paparazzi. It’s really quite interesting.
5) And it took us a while to figure out who sings this song other than “some girl who sounds kinda slutty.” It’s Ke$ha - TiK ToK

Dear Internet,
As we’re driving from Decatur Alabama to Memphis, I just wanted to update you all and let you know you WILL get a new episode soon, once the video is imported, I’ll edit something together.
We just left Big Bob Gibson BBQ. It was incredible. We got a really good, long interview with Chris Lilly, that will be going up with other interview footage next week, so definitely stay tuned.
I kind of wish I had thought to pick up a copy of Chris’ book. It looks like he put together a really cool guide about how to start BBQing on your own, and I’m not just saying that because he was nice enough to give us an interview. If you’re looking to give me a chanukah present, that book would be sweet.

Episode 4 - “An explosion of bbq”
Yesterday, 12/8/09, we ate bbq at seven different restaurants. SEVEN. This is the devotion we have to our craft.
We’d also like to assure everyone that we really are getting very good footage, and this site will live on beyond the road trip - right now it’s a travelogue of a couple guys stuffing their face with bbq, but soon this site will be full of interview clips with pitmasters, reviews, and other delicious content.
